Imadoki: Dandelion is the first volume out of five in the series. It introduces the reader to Tanpopo who in the beggining flies over a fence with her bicycle and pet fox, Poplar, to get to Meio School and by doing so meets "Scoop" who's friends are flowers. Her home town is Hokkaido but she came to Meio because she wanted to go to a school in Tokyo. In her home town she had tons of friends and she has hopes of making some in Meio also. At school she learns that "Scoop" is actually Koki Kugyo who's family founded the academy as well as the city of Wangan. Koki seems to be a bit cruel and distant when at school and doesn't resemble the boy she met in the personality category. Ever since the start of life at school Tanpopo is constantly being bullied and referred to as "weed" which doesn't stop her from volunteering herself and Koki for a planting committee which he does not join. Tsukiko Saionji volunteers herself for the committee to help Tanpopo even though a school rule makes real plants not allowed. Koki seems to have the impression that the students of Meio Academy are fake along with the flowers but with pressure from a persistent Yamazaki (Tanpopo) reluctantly agrees to join the committee if she proves that she is genuine. To start the committee off she gets real flowers from the park to replace the artificial ones because she wants to get to know him better and believes the best way to do so is through their mutual friends the flowers. Yamazaki catches a cold from planting the flowers and, thanks to Poplar's begging for food, wakes up to find rain outside that could easily ruin the flowerbed. She rushes outside to see that her flowers are drowning, to try and protect them and to prevent them from dying she covers them with a tarp. -to be continued -w7000w
